Honoring our History
In 1971, two Chapel of the Cross parishioners wanted to create a space for children and families. The original school was made up of twelve children who gathered once a week to learn and grow together. The program and school evolved, and since opening to the public in 1972 PCC has welcomed over 1,000 children. Today, the program is five-days-a-week that serves 45 families each year.
As we look back at our history, we are grateful to each member of our PCC community for the role you played in making the school such a wonderful place. Together, we have weathered the great challenges of the last three years, and PCC has emerged stronger.
Building for the Future
The future of Preschool at the Chapel of the Cross depends on our shared commitment to supporting our beloved school. Charitable contributions to PCC allow us to invest in our teachers, strengthen our program, provide the best possible learning environment, and expand access to PCC through student scholarships.

Other ways to Support
Volunteer. Running our wonderful school is truly a group effort. With our fearless Director at the helm, our amazing teachers in the classrooms, and our parent-led board helping to steer the ship, PCC couldn't be the school we love without your support.
There will be lots of ways to get involved: volunteering to be a room parent or substitute teacher, helping out with the school library, family directory, or yearbook, volunteering to serve on the PCC board, and joining us for the fall picnic, holiday party, spring event, and other family gatherings.
Link your Harris Teeter VIC card. Link your card directly here or ask for help at your local store. When you shop at HT with your linked VIC card, PCC receives a percentage of your purchases. You can support up to 5 schools with your card, but you do have to re-link it each year. PCC is listed as "Chapel of the Cross Childcare Center" code 3041 on the Harris Teeter site.
Shop and give at Weaver St. Market. Purchase and load a card with any dollar amount you wish at the Market Help Desk or directly from the cashier with Preschool at the Chapel of the Cross as the designee, and Weaver St. will donate 5% of your purchase to PCC each time you use it.
