Updates from the Birds Classroom

More Dinosaurs

Another fun week of dinosaurs! The children loved making their own dinosaur dioramas this week and experimenting with a volcano at circle time. They also enjoyed digging for dinosaurs like a real paleontologist. In Spanish class the children learned a little about Cinco de Mayo and had a parade waving their flags.

Next up: Gardening and Flowers

This past week we started our first of two weeks talking about dinosaurs. You probably saw some dinosaur puppets and coloring sheets come home already. The children are having fun learning about different dinosaurs and how they lived.  They are looking forward to making dinosaur dioramas next week and our very own volcano!

On Monday we had a special visitor–Emily’s mom came in and read The Lorax and did a fun Earth Day craft with the class.  The children loved it. Thank you, Catie!

*Caterpillar update: The caterpillars formed chrysalides last week and we are hoping to have butterflies sometime in the coming week!

Circus and Bugs

The past two weeks have been fun ones for the Birds. We welcomed a new student to our room–Elise! We talked about the circus one week and last week we talked about bugs and insects. During circus week we had fun with animals and circus rings and making clowns. Last week we had fun with bugs in lots of centers and making our own bugs. We also are super excited about our very own caterpillars we now have in our room that we are going to be able to watch grow, make a chrysalis, and then turn into butterflies! We also finished up work on our second canvas for the auction.
